My Xerox Workcentre Pro 123 leaves lines on copies. Actually it looks like black smudges about an inch wide across the top and bottom of the sheet. It doesn't matter if the sheets are fed with the feeder on top, or placed on the glass platen. It appears to be picking up the black on the paper as it travels through the machine. I am thinking it is a housekeeping issue, but are unsure where to look. Any suggestion?

It sounds like the drum unit need replaced. Google it and I bet you can find one.
