Must be a good condition unit no, customer needs one with a good mag roller holding the full amount of toner. Vacumed and packed decent. Can you help save this old one?

Well if he does not want upgrade is it he is willing to pay MORE to repair the old one rather than buy new machine?

what makes his so married to the old machine

it has one redeeming factor 11x17 instant on (OK that is two)

Nuworld has some NEW Sharp AR-M237 for $699.00 includes ADF and two trays 11x17 USB print port duplexing

----------------
I assume like all he thinks a repair is less than a new machine make sure it is not or why do the job, the next thing the fuser or power supply will die and the money spent on the DV unit lost.
Make sure he know all work is as is and his choice to fix not your advice --- do this in writing in firm language signing such paper work often wake up the customer to

Quote

WHAT do you mean the rest of the machine is old, are not you rebuilding it to like new for the cost you are charging?

I threw away about 4 DV units 1 new and 3 used about 5 years ago. sorry

I am in throw away mode again, the stuff I am tossing now just takes too much space, has value but not that much
I have decided I spend too much time fixing storing old machines in the shop and then in the field customer think they are brand new for almost no money (less than my fix up time)
my help does not like shop work so ---------------I am going on a new machine placement plan and can old machines
work less spend less cut helpers hours (since I am doing all the shop work) then spend more of my time on easy calls in the field on newer machines.
in the end cutting cost and if need be cutting gross sales will increase net profit
I am too old to do the old machine shuffle now.

Well Said... Bottom line. Sometimes you need to fix the customer and not the machine.

Fuser are available at a site on the internet. They will send your a rebuilt one for 85.00 but your right about the power supply, that is only a matter of time. Since its not an immediate bother the hunt does continue. The machine still works and customer has been hardened by salesman. Even a technician could tell he could get shown the door too if he didnt try to help so thats what im doing and this fiasco is either going to change his mind or wake him up. I really dont care. The guy is cheap, he needs 11 x 17 and is willing to run a hunt for a good developer. Customer knows situation but is going to go through the motions. I will entertain because in this case, I just dont care if he fixes it or not. He has been told and told whats up and if he wants to gamble, who am I to stand in his way. I like to gamble sometimes too ! :)

I just went and looked at that copier and that doesnt include a cabinet, and shipping. Ill bet the drum and toner isnt included either. I have noticed these places like to sell consumables seperate. I could get him a decent Canon a little more. The service and add ons would make that worth while.

Ok Simons. Lets go another route. Why do you think you need a dev. unit or roller? Depending on the problem, it may be fixed without parts.

the sharp needs a toner and bag of developer comes with drum
it will fit fine on the canon stand

my big thing is time is money and this sounds like you are spending time
ME being busy to point I am tossing out working machine in my inventory of used because I never will have time to fix
i hour ago I just tossed a Canon IC2300 working great but needed fuser

good luck man,
yes I have glued the housing, I recall you were looking for a doctor blade, I know the get hot and damage lead edge, but with solvent they may clean ok

The front side about 2 inch area is worn down and very gouged. major light area being caused. 150k on it. Chemical or tricks will not save. Still waiting for a part :)

Just asking. It's to bad your cussimer seems to have this copier attached to his hip. Since the "A4" craze started, there's not many cheap 11X17 options available.
