Is 30 minutes enough time to talk about MPS?

No.

But it'll do...it'll do...

IKON, a Ricoh Company, is helping their customers manage the document Lifecycle: "...the processes involved in capturing, managing, designing, printing, distributing, storing and retrieving (a) document..."

From 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, Septmeber 16, 2010 at the Doubletree Hotel - Hazard Center, San Diego, California, one can hang out, visit, rub shoulders and otherwise hobknob with some of the elite providers of MPS components.

News Xerox Brings Services to Life with Interactive Customer Experience Website

NORWALK, Conn.– As part of its Ready for Real Business global marketing campaign that debuts today, Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) launched RealBusiness.com, an online interactive and immersive multimedia experience where visitors see Xerox’s offerings come to life through its customers.

Brand characters from the new global marketing campaign, such as a concierge from Marriott Hotels & Resorts, are joined by others from the New York Mets, Hertz, Ducati and the University of Notre Dame, to show how partnering with Xerox helps customers focus on what matters most: their real business.

Building on the campaign’s use of iconic characters in representing Xerox’s customers, the RealBusiness.com sitelet is a world in which these co-mingling brand characters are trying to get back to real business. Multimedia customer case studies bring services to life, such as how Xerox helps Ducati translate its product manuals and how Xerox aids Marriott in the management of more than 11 million global invoices annually.

RealBusiness.com is the virtual headquarters for Real Business International where employees are looking for ways to focus on their real business. Visitors to RealBusiness.com enter a modern office building and are greeted by a host on each floor. For example, a concierge from Marriott can’t help but offer hospitality services, but he’s also needed to introduce the customer testimonials and Xerox offerings available on the Finance & Accounting floor. Each of the five floors in the office building features a different Xerox service – IT outsourcing, customer care, finance and accounting, document management and human resource support.

View the full article

News Paperless Environment Facilitates Significant Growth for Leading Insurance and Financial Services Company

The Walnut Creek, California-based company, which specializes in commercial/private insurance and financial services, is ranked as the nation’s ninth largest privately held property/casualty agency by Insurance Journal magazine.*

Having experienced double-digit growth each year since its founding more than two decades ago, the company recognized the need for a technology infrastructure that could handle their workflows into the future.

“Synchronizing the flow of information between our headquarters and seven remote offices became increasingly difficult because of our rapid growth,” said Mr. John Petersen, Chief Information Officer of Heffernan Insurance Brokers. “Our business processes were heavily reliant upon paper-based applications, forms and original documentation. Freeing ourselves from the time-consuming shuffling of paper would enable us to maintain our exceptional
customer service levels and growth without a costlier increase in manpower.”

View the full article

News Canon imagePROGRAF Disk Erase Version

Introduction

The Canon imagePROGRAF series is equipped with a disk erase feature that erases print jobs sent to the printer from the printer's hard disk. This feature completely erases data sent to the printer, such as classified data and private information, so that it is not leaked to third parties.

Generally, data written to hard disks on computers or printers is not completely erased when the memory is deleted or initialized in the usual way. You can use data recovery software to recover deleted data and retrieve information. This is precisely why preventing data recovery and completely deleting data is so important.

Disk Erase Features

The disk erase feature included with the Canon imagePROGRAF series responds to the need for an increased level of security.

The disk erase feature included with the Canon imagePROGRAF has the following 3 modes.

Secure Erase Mode

This is the highest level of erasure. It meets to U.S. Department of Defense requirements (DoD 5220-22.M) for the erasure of disk media.

Data stored on the printer's hard disk is overwritten multiple times and then checked after the final overwrite. This makes hard disk analysis used during disk recovery impossible, preventing data recovery. For more information, see "5 How Secure Erasure Mode Works".

Secure Quick Erase Mode

In this mode, data stored on the printer's hard disk is overwritten once with random data. This prevents data from being recovered using software. This mode erases data quicker than Secure Erase Mode.

High-speed Erase Mode

In this mode, the file management information for the data stored on the printer's hard disk is initialized. Because only the file management information is initialized, the data still remains on the hard disk.

View the full article

News Secure Documents Through Their Entire Lifecycle

As the digital age continues to push forward, document security is becoming more and more important for offices of all sizes. Most likely, your employees handle documents every day that contain critical information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, account IDs, and confidential financial information. You clients rely on you to keep their information safe.

When securing your documents you have to deal with every part of the document lifecycle: storage, emergency backup, processing, delivery and disposal. However, you can often handle many of these stages with one simple solution. An Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) can securely store, backup and process documents.

Beyond an EDMS, your office should take a look at the network connectivity of multifunction devices to ensure they are secure. When you scan an image through your MFP and email it to a client or co-worker you need to be sure that document is secure.

View the full article

News Create Custom Marketing Materials to Reduce Costs

With today’s color multifunction systems, creating in-house marketing materials is not only easy, but it is also a great cost-cutting tactic. By adding color to your marketing materials, you can boost marketing efforts without tightening your budget.

When you use a print shop, you are usually required to run high volumes of marketing materials. This means you use valuable office space to store extra runs of flyers and brochures. By utilizing your multifunction systems, you will have the ability to print on demand for the exact volume necessary.

Bulk marketing materials also have to be quite generic to ensure maximum use opportunity. In-house marketing materials can be customized with specific information relevant to the recipient.

View the full article
