As you hve noticed.
Many things have changed.
The Icons are going well. I have a few more to edit as I roll out the skin and that part should be complete. I want to thank YAK and lkrsardis for their feedback on that. Without your feedback I am not sure if the changes I make are a positive influence or a negative influence on the forum. With their feedback we have started and are almost complete with a plain/ down to home skin that is cross browser compatible and looks nice on most systems. Thanks to both of you for your valued feedback!
Our next step is to once again implement some kind of reward system. I know most of you have tried to send me messages of how to download from the library. I have not ignored you, I have been busy trying to find a solution. As you know running the forum costs money and donations do help but the ads pay for a large part of what we look at every day. What I am looking at is the more threads/posts a person makes the more points they get to download items for free. With Vbulletin I relied on the thanks system to promote people into a group where it was automatic. With recent updates and an install on my part I hope to enable a simular system based on number of posts and replies in the technical forums. Helping others solve their problems will be worth more points than posting your problems but they will all gain points and allow downloads. I am not sure on the value and the specifics but that is what I am working toward. Posts/Threads in non-technical areas of the forum will also count toward your points.
This is comming soon. I have not worked out all the details yet but the apps are installed and I am working on the final roll out in the comming weeks.
Each forum will have a value assigned. posts as well as replies will have a value that represent a point and after X amount of points you are allowed to download x number of files from the library. While I think abuse will happen, I think I will just erase all the " ok " and "HI" posts and focus on the posts and threads that promote the forum. It is the easiest way to encourage people to post and start topics yet maintain some kind of controll on bandwidth.
If the person still does not wish to contribute to the forum with his time/energy they are more than welcome to donate to my paypal account to pay for me hosting/collecting and providing the service. I do not sell manuals but you are welcome to assist the members of the community by assisting in our hosting fees to provide the service and get temprary access.
More videos are on the way. I am working on a knife right now and going to relax for the next few weeks but I will start to edit some of the feeds I have started to collect. The beta of the 3200 fuser went well and users were pleased with the results so I will try and edit some more files and post them as well for members that have gained "tech" status to download.
